What A Drought Declaration Means

A drought declaration in Oregon serves as a formal recognition of significant water shortages. The 4 Parts of A Drought Declaration are,
1. County Request. The County formally asks the State for a declaration.
2. Scientific Review. The Water Supply Availability Committee analyzes data.
3. State coordination – The Drought Readiness Council reviews the situation, recommends action.
4. Governor’s order – The Governor issues an Executive Order.

Conservation Tip: Spread compost and organic matter in garden beds to help maintain moisture and keep weeds away.

🌲 What do you think about Clackamas County Parks? 🌲

Clackamas County parks are special places, where people can escape to nature to enjoy rivers, forests, trails, campgrounds, picnic areas, boating access, scenic viewpoints, and more — all close to home.

These 16 parks provide outdoor recreation for families, visitors, and communities across the county and the region.

Now’s your chance to help influence the future of these important community spaces. To help meet the outdoor needs of people in years to come, Clackamas County is updating its long-range guide for maintaining, improving, and expanding its parks.

We want to hear:
• How you use the parks
• How you would like to use the parks in the future
• What park amenities and services are most important to you
• What improvements or changes are needed to make the parks more enjoyable and accessible

Take the survey and help shape the future of our parks! https://bit.ly/4do0U5w
