This is a sick Turkey Vulture that I picked up today in Pinconning. When vultures get scared, they vomit, and she puked up two little field mice. I suspect that the mice were dead because of rat poison and the vulture ate the mice and now she is poisoned. Please, spread the word to everyone you know to NOT use rat poison. This family also has outdoor cats. I urged him to keep them indoors because they are in danger of eating poisoned mice too! Keep fingers crossed for this beautiful bird!

Dr Mary Isaac released an eagle today in honor of her father who passed recently. And He will raise you up on eagle’s wingsā€. Very emotional, very beautiful experience for her as well as for Sandy and me.

We got this eagle in yesterday. She has no obvious trauma but is p**ping green p**p. That is sometimes an indication of lead poisoning. Hunters still are using lead bullets and when they don’t retrieve what they shot than scavengers like eagles will eat the carcass and ingest the lead which makes them very sick. She did eat for Sandy which gives us hope. Dr Mary, hopefully, can see her and help us out next week.

Today I got a Wildlife call on my cellphone, it was published on Facebook. I don’t use that number for anything but personal calls ( to keep in contact with my 90 year old parents) and I can’t have it tied up with the 300 or more phone calls that I get in a year. I have given it out on the rare occasion that I meet someone to pick up an animal thinking that if something happens and they can’t meet me then I’m not waiting for them all day at a truck stop. So, if you know of anyone giving out my cell number on Facebook (starts with 450) please let me know so that I can contact them to stop.

Our baby heron LOVES to eat in the morning. He was picked up by a boy that was walking along a pond. It’s probably an example of a bird that should never have been picked up but by the time we got her it was too late to put her back.
