Essex Fire Department Association, Inc., is a Connecticut non-stock corporations organized on May 10, 1979. The Association if a non-profit 501 (C)(3) corporation. The nature of the activities to be conducted, or the purposes to be promoted or carried out by the corporation are to own, establish and develop a recreation and fire training facility. The purposes of fire prevention, exercises as well as public recreation, sports and multi-purpose outdoor pursuits.

For those of you that know the history of EFDA, Facebook is going to delete this account as they are stating a trademark issue, but in fact the EFDA was designated by the state of CT in order to keep and maintain separate from Essex Fire Engine Company No. 1. Strick Hyde and myself signed paperwork with Norm Needleman at the town hall to revert the land over to the town since most of the members of EFDA were deceased and the remaining officers and Board did not receive new participation from the Essex Fire Engine Co. no. 1. It has been a pleasure working with the community over the years. We at the Essex Fire Department Association, Inc. will forever keep the memories with us Always!
