This Friday, our nation will be remembering the tragic events from 25 years ago, on September 11, 2001. Locally, the Essex Volunteer Fire Company will also be remembering those specific events between 8:30a.m. and 10:30a.m., by sounding the fire house siren and laying flowers at our 9/11 Memorial. The public is invited to join us during this time - either for just a few minutes or for the entire time, to remember, reflect and honor those whose lives were lost by this tragedy. The Memorial is located on the fire house grounds, at 1449 Sussex Rd. 21221, and was established as part of an Eagle Scout Project.

For many of us of a certain age, 9/11 holds very deep and personal thoughts and memories. In addition to the Remembrance on Friday morning, the public is invited to visit the 9/11 Memorial from sunrise to sunset daily, for quiet reflections, or to offer your personal memorial or tribute.
