We were so happy to host the kindergarten literacy class from Lakeside School at Black Kettle Farm yesterday! They were excited to present their original book, "How to Say Hello to a Gnome", which is not only creative and magical, but also contains some incredibly practical tips! Come check out this addition of our youngest published authors to our Essex Authors Display table!

This summer, participate in a community art project to celebrate Essex! We will be creating a paper quilt that represents our community, and there will be many ways to contribute! Stay tuned for more details about events and workshops, and stop in to get involved in the artistic process! A huge "thank you" to the Essex County Arts Council for their funding support of this project!

In celebration of National Library Week, ALA President Sam Helmick writes:

"Joy can be a quiet thing.

"Joy is the child who discovers their first favorite book and insists on reading it again right there on the library floor. Joy is the job seeker who finally finds the right words for a résumé. Joy is the new parent who finds community in a storytime circle, or the neighbor who walks through our doors not because they need something specific, but because they need somewhere to belong.
