Great news: You don’t need to live near a site to access meals! All kids and teens 18 and under from anywhere—Essex, Westford, or beyond—are welcome at any of our summer meal locations. We’re serving up breakfast and lunch to keep kids fueled for fun, learning, and adventure! Some of our bulk sites are relatively close to Essex and Westford, so please stop by! No need to sign up, no paperwork — show up! 🎨⚽📚

✅ No ID or registration required
✅Bulk sites are grab-and-go and may be picked up by a guardian on behalf of the child
✅ On-site meals must be consumed on site
✅ Open to all children 18 and under

Our team is working hard to ensure kids across our community have access to healthy, delicious meals while school is out. This year, we’re proud to sponsor two summer meal sites in Essex—both congregate sites, where children 18 and under can enjoy meals on-site in a welcoming environment.

We’ve also extended our reach to rural areas outside our district that otherwise wouldn’t have access to summer meals. In these communities, we’re offering bulk meal kits that help meet the unique needs of families with limited transportation or access to daily meal sites.

Many have asked why we don’t offer bulk meals in Essex. Because Essex isn’t classified as rural under federal guidelines, we aren’t allowed to use that service model here—even though we’d love to offer it.

Thank you for your continued support. Together, we’re nourishing young minds and building stronger communities. 💚

Beginning in January, our Child Nutrition team launched a "Tray of the Month" photo contest! Schools submitted photos of their lunch trays, and we conducted an internal vote to determine the best tray. Each tray was required to meet the nutritional standards set by the USDA National School Lunch Program. Stay tuned for next month's opportunity to vote on the upcoming round of entries!

Congrats to our team at ADL for winning the first round!
