I am committed to leading with a vision that prioritizes integrity, transparency, and accountability — bringing a track record of decisive leadership and strategic action.

The Sheriff’s position isn’t about politics; it’s about service. I’ve proudly called Rio Arriba home my entire life, and I’ve watched our community struggle under the increasing weight of drugs and rising crime. It’s time to stand together, build on our systems, and restore the safety and pride our county deserves. We can —and we will —build a stronger, safer Rio Arriba County for every citizen.

Last night’s Return event, hosted by Holmes Boxing at the Ohkay Hotel & Casino, was incredible! 🥊

It was great to see so much local talent and community pride on full display. A huge shoutout to Leanna Martinez, the “Northern New Mexico Sweetheart,” for representing our county with heart, confidence, and strength!

Thank you to Holmes Boxing for continuing to bring these opportunities home, celebrating our athletes, inspiring our youth, and keeping our community connected through sportsmanship and respect. Huge thanks to Governor Benny Lujan from Ohkay Owingeh for bringing these events to our region!

I had the opportunity to attend the “Rio Arriba Recovery – Screening and Panel Discussion” hosted by the Rio Arriba County Health and Human Services Department, which really highlighted our community’s challenges around substance use and recovery.

As someone deeply committed to Rio Arriba County’s future, I want us to work together to strengthen collaboration and ensure everyone has access to the care and resources they need. When one door closes, another opens, and we need to keep that hope alive for those struggling with addiction.

A big thank you to everyone who organized this discussion. Together, we’ll keep building a healthier community.
