Hello Old Escondido Neighborhood Residents,
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts over the past few months regarding the Juniper Street ornamental lighting. We’ve heard clearly that while many residents appreciate the added safety and aesthetics these lights provide, there are different preferences regarding brightness and color tone.
To help us move forward, the City will be testing two lighting options on Juniper Street:
· A neutral, white light option
· A warmer, amber light option
Both options will be installed on the street at the same time, so you can see and compare them in real conditions.
The lighting test will take place over three evenings from May 14-17. On Thursday, May 14, at 7:45 p.m., City staff will be on-site to answer questions, listen to feedback, and explain the differences between the two options.
Please meet on the west side of the alley on Juniper between 6th Ave. and 7th Ave.
After viewing the lights, neighbors will be invited to share their preferences through a short online survey.
Please note that City crews will be out ahead of the meeting to test the lights, so you may notice some activity during the evening, the week of May 11.
Your input is essential in helping us select a solution that balances safety, comfort, and neighborhood character.
We hope you’ll join us and be part of the decision-making process.
Thank you for your continued engagement and partnership.
