LakeHouse Escanaba recently held a special event honoring notable military figures from the Upper Peninsula. Guest speaker Bill Castle, a Senior Companion Volunteer, shared inspiring stories of the UP men and women who proudly served our country.

LakeHouse's own veteran residents also reflected on their time in service, sharing personal memories and experiences that touched everyone in attendance.

We thank all of our veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and service to our nation.

What a nice surprise today at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility when Lee and I received this gift for Volunteer Appreciation...we were not there for the last two weeks, so it is belated. How nice is this? Truly a "love gift" ❤️

Lakehouse celebrated its volunteers for Volunteer Appreciation Month 2026 by treating them out to the Dew Drop in Gladstone. They have some really great food there. We also got a certificate, and a T-shirt. Bill Castle was Volunteer of the Year. Congratulations Bill! Thanks Lakehouse Team, for appreciating your Volunteers (Friday April 24, 2026)

It's National Volunteer Month and Earth day, Bishop Noa Home honored their Volunteers with this Luncheon today. With many gifts as well. Jim from RSVP won as Bishop Noa Home's Volunteer of The Year. Congratulations Jim! Thank you Bishop Noa Home for honoring your Volunteers. :) (April 22, 2026)

It's National Volunteer Week and we would like to highlight the impact our volunteers have had this past year, our volunteers had 33,720 hours of volunteer service provided to residents. They served over 445 older adults in our community.

We want to say a BIG THANK YOU to our volunteers. You are the reason behind the success of our program!

What a wonderful Appreciation lunch here at Upper Crust in Manistique. Thank you Linda and Liz for this gift and also for the fun egg game and gifts‼️ We missed Robin and hope she recovers quickly. Happy Springtime everyone.🌷🌞🌷

The Senior Companion Program's April 2026 In Service meeting went very well. We got to pick out a shirt, Coloring book, and large Crossword Puzzle. Also got this little tablet with paper for notes and sticky notes. We played Share The Wealth (50/50). Then we had the Birthdays for April. Happy Birthday Linda and Terry (Terry's was in March). Linda talked about the time sheets. Make sure we put down the place or city the In Service is being held at. Check your signature to be sure they are on the front and the back. If you are off for awhile, you do not need signatures from your assigned places, while you are off. Sayklly's Easter Candy Sale went well. Terry sold the most, followed by Linda K., and then Frank. Great job Senior Companions!
Remember to look at your calendars. They have a lot of information on them, that can help with filling out your time sheet. If you aren't going to work on any certain, let the office know. We then played a game of “Egg Exchange” with the people from our neighbor table, and won a gift. For lunch we had Pizza from Dominoes. Everything went great and it was great to see everyone. The Senior Companion Program In-Service for February went very well. After we signed in, we had assigned seating and had to sit where our large envelopes were. Then we Shared the Wealth with two winners. The February Birthdays came next – Happy Birthday Rose (Feb 21). Linda went over the Senior Companion Evaluations. We had information on Dementia, and Linda talked about that, and had responses from the Senior Companions. We had Chicken from Family Inn (thanks Don), Stuffing, Mashed potatoes, gravy, a salad, and cookies (Thanks to Linda, Elizabeth, Gayle, Mary Lou, and Karen & Bill Castle).
