Heads up! Much of Southern, Central, and Eastern Utah is under flood watch, with flash flood forecasts listed as probable and expected in these areas till Saturday night.
Highest risk areas include slot canyons, normally dry washes, slickrock areas, and recent burn scars. Here’s what you need to know.
🌧 Check Conditions! All of our parks have current conditions listed on their website. Continually check with parks and the National Weather Service about weather conditions.
🥾 DO NOT hike slot canyons with probable and expected flash flooding. Your safety is more important than your plans. We strongly urge visitors not to hike in slot canyons anytime there are potential flash flood dangers. Flash flooding happens fast, it's a wave of water and debris that can take you out quickly. Get to higher ground, do not drive into water, and stay informed. Your safety is your responsibility.
🌳 Parks remain open, and again, we encourage visitors to continually check conditions, and talk with park rangers if they'd like assistance making plans before heading out.
