*****************SCAM WARNING******************
The Erlanger Police Department has been made aware of a recent increase in scam tactics involving fraudulent phone calls and text messages. One of our officers recently received a text message, with the below image, threatening arrest unless a payment was made.
Please be advised of the following:
- Do Not Respond: Do not engage with these emails, phone calls, or text messages.
- Spoofed Numbers: These messages often originate from out-of-state area codes that have likely been spoofed but can also look like local numbers.
- Protect Your Information: Never provide personal information or make payments in response to demands made via phone, email, or text.
- Official Procedures: Courts in Kentucky do not conduct business or demand payments in this manner.
Unfortunately, these scams are difficult to track. We urge you to remain vigilant and share this information with others.

Today we remember an honor the life of James McMain, a lifelong resident of Erlanger and a proud Navy veteran who served with distinction during the Korean War.
James also dedicated his time to our community as an auxiliary officer with the Erlanger Police during the late 1960s and 70s. His commitment to service both to his country and hometown leaves a lasting legacy.
