With the extreme heat in the forecast, the Erin Police Department asks that our citizens check on their neighbors. It is very easy to become overheated in these conditions especially for the elderly.

Please keep a watch on the elderly, children, and pets to make sure everyone stays hydrated and cool. If you have concerns about a loved one and are unable to check on them yourself, contact us and we will do a welfare check on them for you.

Update: Mia Irving has been missing from Houston County, TN since August 4th, 2026. Prior to her current disappearance, she gave no indication that she had planned to run away. She had started school, where she was taking notes and seemed serious about her classes, and she had also made plans with friends.

Mia went missing from a remote area near the Danville Country Store in Stewart, TN.

She is 15 years old, 5' 4" tall, 120 lbs. Her current hair is the cheetah print style as seen below; her eyebrows are pink, and she does have a small heart tattoo under her eye.

Yes, she was previously missing from Knoxville while she was in State's custody, but since then she was able to return home to her family, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary or made her unhappy. Her family is concerned, and it is unlikely that she walked off alone given the remote location of where she lives.

When she went missing from Knoxville, she was said to frequent the areas of shelters, and the tattoo on her face appeared after her last disappearance.

Please take her case seriously and take a moment to share this updated information. I know it's easy to assume she ran away due to her past, but as stated earlier, her mother feels as if it could be something else, and even if it's not, runaways are in danger as well.

Anyone with information should call the Houston County
Sheriff's Department at 931-289-4614 or the TBI at 1-800-FIND.
