🎃👻 It’s almost time for Erie’s favorite fall tradition… ZooBOO at the Erie Zoo!

✨ Tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 16th at 9am! From September 16–30th, enjoy our Early Bird Sale and save $1 off each ticket. Starting October 1st, tickets will return to regular pricing, so grab yours early at https://shop.eriezoo.org/ #/SpecialEvents.

ZooBOO will run nightly from October 15–30th, from 6:00–9:00 PM.

🎧We are excited to bring our sensory-friendly ZooBOO night back for its second year on Thursday, October 15th. Our sensory-friendly night provides you with the same ZooBOO experience as a typical ZooBOO night, but without any flashing lights, loud noises, or overstimulating activities.

🦄Join us on a magical adventure as we meet a colorful variety of unicorns! Together, we'll enjoy a whimsical story, sing cheerful songs, explore rainbow sensory play, and create a magical craft. It's the perfect warm welcome back with a little bit of zoo magic!🌈

Join us for our Make-A-Monster contest and let your creativity run wild as we transform the zoo into a festive, whimsical trail of creativity! This year’s theme? Classical Monsters! 🧛‍♂️

Think you can channel your inner Frankenstein, Mummy, Dracula, or a character from Hotel Transylvania? Show us what you've got! 🧟‍♀️ Prizes await the top three masterpieces, including gift cards, animal art, and more! 🎁

It's World Beard Day!

🤔Did you know that the bearded dragon got its name due to the ability to puff out and darken the skin under their throat, making it look like a beard!

Our bearded dragons are one of our many ambassador animals who are trained to interact closely with the public to help teach about its species and wild habitats. If you have attended a zoo class, birthday party, or outreach, you may have had a chance to meet Norbert or one of our other ambassador animals.

UDPATE: Snack Attack Concessions is now open for the day!

Your Erie Zoo is open with normal operating hours today, September 3rd!

Due to the intense storm we experienced overnight, we are grateful to share that only a few areas are affected by fallen branches. Any guests visiting the Zoo will not be able to park in our lower parking lot until further notice due to storm damage and debris.

In addition to the lower parking lot being closed, our concession stand run by Snack Attack, located near our Canada Lynx and Amur Leopard, will be closed today, and our front lawn pergola will not be accessible due to downed limbs.

A huge shout-out to our horticulture and safety team for their speedy response in cleaning up the storm debris and blocking off any inaccessible areas!

📚 Big News, Book Lovers! 📚

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated books for our conservation book drive! We're thrilled to announce that we will be opening our conservation book sale earlier than planned! Join us this Friday, September 4th & Saturday, Saturday, September 5th from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Zoo entry is not required, just look for our tiger-striped door if you're only coming for the sale or coming before the zoo opens to the public at 10am! If you’re visiting the zoo, don’t forget to swing by our classroom for children’s books and our stage for adult titles after you have entered through our front gate.

Here’s what you need to know before you dive in:
📖 All books are by donation. No set prices, just give what you can!
💳 We’ll have a point-of-sale system ready to take both cash and cards.
👜 Remember to bring your own bags or boxes, they’ll come in handy!
📚 Books arrange from kids to adults, we have something for everyone! Perfect for schools, homeschoolers, and all bookworms alike!

Come support a great cause and find your next favorite read! We can’t wait to see you there! 🌟💚
