Cadet Luke Irvin (Gannon University) completed Air Assault School at West Point. While there, he learned about Army aircraft, aircraft loading procedures, LZ operations, sling load inspections, aeromedical evacuation, and rappelling. "One of the most physically and mentally demanding courses I've completed," he says, requiring constant focus, preparation, and perseverance. Airborne School was completed at Fort Benning, Georgia. Cadet Derek Bly successfully completed five jumps, including four from a C-17 and one from a C-130J, with jumps conducted both at night and while carrying combat equipment. The course provided an incredible opportunity to experience the operational Army firsthand while developing confidence, resilience, and discipline. Cadet Bly says, "I was grateful for the chance to learn valuable leadership lessons from both NCO's and officers, while also gaining insight from junior enlisted soldiers." The demanding training reinforced the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and perseverance, making it a truly rewarding experience.
