to last month's Emergency Response Training at the MA Firefighting Academy in Stow, MA!

We were proud to host 42 students in our 3-Day Emergency Response Course and another 35 participants in our Refresher Training.

The Refresher Training focused on propane meters, while our 3-Day course provided hands-on training in leak mitigation and fire response. From classroom discussions to live training scenarios, participants spent the week building skills, sharing knowledge, and strengthening the relationships that help keep our communities safe.

Thank you to all of the students, instructors, and volunteers who made this training a success. We always enjoy seeing propane professionals and emergency responders come together to learn from one another and prepare for real-world situations.

Safety Tip of the Week - Anhydrous Ammonia Properties and Hazards:
Anhydrous ammonia is an inhalation hazard. At certain concentrations, exposure to anhydrous ammonia can disable or suffocate you. Direct contact with your skin or eyes can cause frostbite, burns or blindness.

Safety Tip of the Week: Methanol should never come in contact with your skin, eyes, or mouth. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) whenever you handle methanol.

Our May 2026 ER Training kicks off tomorrow! From live fire scenarios to classroom sessions and teamwork in the field, it’s all about building confidence, strengthening relationships with local fire departments, and making sure everyone goes home safer.

A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) provides information about a chemical's hazards. Anyone who might come into contact with the chemical should understand the potential dangers and how to safely handle the product.

Another great RISEMA Golf Outing & Dinner Meeting is in the books!

We were lucky to have beautiful weather on Monday as members and guests gathered at Potowomut Golf Club for a day of golf, networking, and industry updates. Thank you to everyone who joined us for both the outing and the evening dinner meeting.
