Please DO NOT Put Contaminated Oil in Public Collection Containers!

Routine test results recently showed that publicly collected oil at the Ephrata Landfill Recycling Center was contaminated with Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs). The cost to dispose of the contaminated oil and clean the tanks was nearly $20,000, but routine recycling would have only cost a few hundred dollars.

Residents may recycle used oil at several locations in Grant County. Follow best management practices to keep oil uncontaminated.
