Programs We Offer:
Meals on Wheels (Ephrata and Cocalico Region)
Hand UP Exchange: Food and Clothing Bank-Twice a month individuals can shop at our client choice food and clothing bank at no cost. Transportation Services-No cost door to door pick-ups for individuals who have no transportation available to their doctor appointments, grocery store, hair

dresser, or any other location. We have two vehicles that are wheelchair accessible. Community Support Services-Two staff social workers provide social services, financial assistances, and community resources to families in need. Our programs are 100% possible because of community support. Donate or Volunteer to continue supporting our Neighbors helping Neighbors commitment.

A little wind couldn't stop the fun at the Second Annual Ephrata Borough, PA Government, Golf Tournament. Thanks to our golfers, sponsors, and supporters, more than $9,600 was raised to help neighbors throughout Northern Lancaster County.

This tournament started after Borough leaders saw firsthand how many people needed a hand up with utility bills and other basic needs. In just its second year, participation jumped from 42 registered golfers to 70!

A big shout-out to Bruce Haws and the Ephrata Borough team for organizing another great event, and to Manor Golf for being such a fantastic host.

This one was a little bittersweet too, as it marked our final event as Ephrata Area Social Services. Next up: Community Hive! 🐝

Just a reminder that our office will be closed Monday and Tuesday as we get ready for an exciting new chapter!

Meals on Wheels deliveries WILL continue as normal.

Be sure to stop by our Open House on Tuesday to celebrate the launch of Community Hive. We’ll have tours, free food, door prizes, and a ribbon cutting at 4 PM. We’d love to see you there!

We’re excited to share a new partnership with the Adamstown Area Library!

Community Hive Resource Coordinators will now be offering appointment opportunities directly at the library to help connect neighbors with support, resources, and guidance closer to home.

We’re grateful for partnerships like this that help make community support more accessible throughout Northern Lancaster County.

You can also come learn more about Community Hive next weekend at the Opening Day Drive-Thru Party at Denver Community Park on Saturday, June 6 from 8:30–11 AM! Families can stay in their cars while picking up summer reading goodies, snacks, raffle prizes, and more from over 25 community sponsors.

Be sure to stop by Adamstown Community Days (May 28–31) and support Builders of Hope by grabbing their famous strawberry shortcake! 🍓

Builders of Hope is EASS’s transitional housing program serving families within the Ephrata and Cocalico School Districts through apartment-style housing, budgeting support, mentoring, and case management designed to help families build long-term stability and hope for the future.

We’re also excited to share that EASS will be speaking during the Sunday church service at the grove on May 31 to share more about the work happening through EASS and Builders of Hope.

Come out, enjoy Community Days, and support local families working toward a fresh start!

We had such a fun time at our May Gather on the Hill event!

From a Memorial Day themed craft, dog breed bingo, and therapy dogs visiting from KPETS - Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services, to celebrating our EASS intern Jocelyn with a graduation cake at her final Gather on the Hill before graduation — it was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, community, and connection.

Hosted monthly at Bergstrasse Lutheran Church, Gather on the Hill brings older adults together for fellowship, fun, and friendship throughout the year.

Please note: our June Gather on the Hill will be moved to the SECOND Tuesday of the month — June 9 — due to our Community Hive Open House on June 2.
