The EFD wishes to extend its gratitude to all individuals who participated in the recent training exercise held over the weekend.

A special thank you to JFD for their support and collaboration, and to Grant Meyer of LaGrande Rural Fire for providing the air trailer, which facilitated unlimited access to SCBA training for the firefighters.
Last but not least, we would like to say thank you so much to the owner of the property, Mr. Mauss for giving us this opportunity.

This weekend's training session provided invaluable opportunities for firefighters to develop and refine multiple essential skills through collaborative efforts. Participants engaged in exercises focused on search and rescue techniques, ventilation methods, hose handling procedures, forceable entry, Mayday drills, and radio communication. The successful coordination and cooperation between participating organizations were notable highlights of the event.

Thank you again to everybody involved.

Live Fire Training Announcement: “BURN TO LEARN”

Enterprise Fire Department will have personnel in attendance this Saturday, November 15, 2025, as we conduct a live fire Burn to Learn training at 610 SW 2nd in Enterprise. Beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.

This will be a joint-agency training involving Joesph Fire , Wallowa Fire and Lagrande Fire. Training together in a realistic environment strengthens interoperability, reinforces firefighter safety and survival practices, and provides valuable hands-on experience that directly translates to safer and more effective emergency response for our communities.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the community, near by neighbors and to our Training officers for coordinating a controlled, instructor-supervised environment that supports the professional development of all participating firefighters.

What nearby residents may notice:

Smoke and flames: Visible throughout the day as part of the controlled exercise.

Noise: Increased activity from apparatus, equipment, and instructor communication.

Air quality considerations: Individuals with respiratory concerns may wish to keep windows closed.

Safety perimeter: Please do not enter the training area or approach the scene. Stay 100 plus feet away.

Firefighters may remain on site following the exercise for cleanup operations.

EFD would also like to thank the property owner for providing this structure and supporting critical firefighter training. Your cooperation helps ensure that all partner agencies remain prepared to respond safely and effectively when real emergencies occur.

Thank you for your understanding as we work together to enhance community safety, readiness, and interagency coordination.
