17 Feb 26 Enosburgh Fire Department taking advantage of a very nice Tuesday evening at Lake Carmi for a little cold weather pump training, ice auger training / chain saw training on water access in the wintertime .

January 2026 located at 206 Sampsonville Rd. This could have been worse there was no injuries at this fire. A family of 6 lived there. What you're looking at is just a few minutes after the department arrived on scene. Not much of a chance to save much when it looks like that at arrival.

In case you have not heard Enosburgh Fire has made a new (to us) purchase. A 2015 mini pumper, in time (after training and fitting with equipment) this truck will replace a 1995 truck. The department felt the need to have a 4 x 4 Engine in its fleet, more off-road buildings (way off road) are being built in the Town of Enosburgh, so to continue with our mission of service we felt a 4-wheel drive vehicle was necessary. This vehicle was local (Colchester Fire Department) became available, not overpriced, very good shape, less than 9000 miles, easier to drive than a large truck.

This was the scene upon arrival of the department at a local fire a couple of weeks ago. No injuries (thank God) but there could have been. The department contributes this to working smoke detectors, the homeowner was notified of a smoke condition on the first floor. When the homeowner exited the residence through the front door a back draft happened and blew out all the lower floor windows. Remember smoke detectors save lives.
