Happy EMS Week 2026 from Enosburgh Ambulance Service 💙🚑

EMS in a small community is more than a job — it is family.

At Enosburgh Ambulance Service, we are proud to have a family atmosphere where our members support one another through the challenges, sacrifices, and rewarding moments that come with this profession. The long nights, missed holidays, difficult calls, and time away from loved ones are all part of the job, but having a strong team beside you makes all the difference.

We take tremendous pride in the level of care and compassion our crews provide every day. In rural EMS, patients are more than names on a chart — they are our neighbors, friends, coworkers, classmates, and family members. That connection drives us to provide the highest level of emergency medical care possible while treating every patient with dignity, respect, and compassion.

We are also incredibly proud to support our community beyond emergency calls. Whether it is community events, public education, standby coverage, helping neighboring agencies, or simply being there when someone needs us most, serving this area is an honor we never take for granted.

EMS is built on teamwork, and we are thankful for the strong relationships we share with our local EMS partners, fire departments, law enforcement agencies, dispatchers, hospitals, and mutual aid agencies. Working together allows all of us to provide the best care possible to the communities we serve.

To all EMS providers everywhere — thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and heart.

And to our community: thank you for your continued trust, encouragement, and support. It is truly a privilege to serve you.

Mental Health Awareness Month – May

May is recognized nationally as Mental Health Awareness Month — a time to highlight the importance of mental well-being for all.

Behind every uniform is a human being.

First responders are often called to meet people on their worst days. They are trained to remain calm in chaos, provide care in high-stress situations, and carry the weight of difficult calls long after the scene is cleared. While much of the focus is placed on those we serve, it is equally important to recognize the mental health of those who answer the call.

The challenges of this profession do not always end when the uniform comes off.

At Enosburgh Ambulance Service, we encourage our members — and all first responders — to check in on one another, speak openly about their experiences, and seek support when needed. These actions reflect strength, professionalism, and commitment to long-term well-being.

This message extends to all members of public safety, including EMS, fire, law enforcement, dispatch, and support personnel: your health matters, and you are not alone.

To our dedicated crews — you spend your lives caring for others. Please remember that you deserve the same level of care, compassion, and support.

Strong minds. Stronger together.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the incredible Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team - DHART crew who responded to a snowy parking lot to assist with the rescue of an injured skier. Your skill, professionalism, and willingness to operate in challenging winter conditions made a critical difference in ensuring rapid access to advanced care.

We also want to recognize the dedicated members of the Enosburgh Fire Department for standing by and assisting on scene. Your teamwork and support help make operations like this run smoothly and safely.

A special thank you to the Enosburgh Town Highway Department for keeping the parking lot cleared 24/7 for emergencies just like this. Your behind-the-scenes work ensures we have safe and reliable landing zones when every minute counts.

This call was a true example of community partnership and interagency teamwork at its best. We are grateful to work alongside such committed professionals who serve our community day and night — no matter the weather.

Enosburgh Ambulance Service 2025 Recap – Part Two: The Heart of Our Service

Enosburgh Ambulance Service (EAS) is proud to share the second part of our 2025 Year in Review—highlighting the people, progress, and community commitment that define who we are.

While statistics tell part of the story, 2025 was truly a year defined by growth, challenge, and dedication. One of the most notable milestones was sending our third ambulance out for a full remount. The newly updated unit represents our ongoing investment in safety, reliability, and modern emergency medical care—and if you haven’t seen it yet, we think it looks pretty great.

Beyond emergency response, EAS remains deeply connected to the community we serve. Throughout 2025, our members proudly supported and participated in more than 20 local events, including Trunk-or-Treats, June Dairy Days, Fourth of July parades, and high school career days. We are more than just a 911 service—we are committed partners in community health, safety, and education.

Investing in Our People

The most important part of 2025 was our staff.

We were honored to welcome four new Advanced EMTs (AEMTs) into the EAS family, strengthening our frontline capabilities. At the same time, several of our existing members challenged themselves to advance their clinical skills and certifications:

Three members obtained Advanced EMT licensure
Two members obtained EMT licensure
One member earned Flight Paramedic certification
Our Chief obtained Critical Care Paramedic certification
Four members began paramedic programs, scheduled for completion later in 2026
One member obtained their Tactial Responder certification
One mebmber obtained their Tatical Paramedic certification

These accomplishments represent countless hours of education, clinical training, and personal sacrifice. This commitment ensures that EAS continues to deliver the highest possible level of care to our patients when they need it most.

2025 also brought us the foundation for a few of our higly trained and certifed tactical responders and medics to embed with the St. Albans Police Department Special Response Team. This collaborative effort enhances responder safety and patient care by placing highly trained EMS providers alongside law enforcement during high-risk incidents.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we move into 2026, Enosburgh Ambulance Service is stronger than ever. We begin the year operating three fully equipped, paramedic-licensed ambulances:

Enosburgh 1 (2022)
Enosburgh 2 (2025)
Enosburgh 3 (2024)

Our current provider levels include:

VEFR: 2
EMT: 7
Advanced EMT: 7
Paramedic: 5
Flight Paramedic: 2
Critical Care Paramedic: 1
Junior Members: 3

This diverse and highly trained team positions EAS to meet the evolving needs of our community with advanced care and rapid response.

What’s Next

To close, EAS is actively working on an exciting project that will further expand the level of care we can provide locally. Details will be shared soon—so stay tuned.

On behalf of our leadership, and staff, thank you to our community for your continued trust and support. We are proud to serve Enosburgh and the surrounding towns, and we look forward to what 2026 will bring.ht
