Are you looking for a new and exciting career? Do you want to make a difference in your community? Answer the call, and become a dispatcher!

The Garfield County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of full time dispatcher. Qualified candidates must be at least eighteen years old, and pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Ability to multi-task and remain calm during stressful situations is a must. This position entails working different shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Garfield County offers competitive pay, health insurance package, and retirement benefits.

OLETS certification preferred but not required.

Here's your reminder...

You will never receive a call from our agency asking for payment in regards to any "tickets", "warrants", "missed jury duty", etc. We will also never ask for payment via gift cards, bitcoin, apple pay, Cash App, Venmo, etc for the reasons above.

Once again, it has come to our attention that someone impersonating various Garfield County Sheriff's Office personnel and spoofing our office phone number is calling citizens and advising them that they have a warrant for their arrest or owe money for tickets. The person doing this makes claims that you must pay for your "warrant" or "ticket" to avoid being arrested. THIS IS A SCAM! HANG UP THE PHONE.

7:00pm Update:

Severe storms will impact southeastern Garfield County Shortly. Main hazards are 60mph winds, and quarter size hail.

5:55 Severe Weather Update:

The severe thunderstorm warning has been allowed to expire, as the storms that prompted the warning have moved off to the NE.

The storms that are currently moving through central Garfield County, are not severe. However they are producing a lot of rain. Please me mindful of flash flooding!

The flash flood advisory remains in effect until 8:30PM.

5:30 PM Update:

Be Careful out there! Storms to our west are still making their way through the area. We have several reports of water over the roadways, and several traffic lights flashing around the county due to power outages. Please take your time during your evening commute.

The New Severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 6:15PM. Hazards Include 70MPH Winds and Quarter Size Hail.

A flood advisory is also in effect until 8:30PM.

New Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwestern Garfield County, until 5:45PM.

Main Hazards are 70MPH wind and Ping Pong Ball size hail.

This is going to be a wind, hail, and heavy rainfall type of storm. Just move away from windows, and stay indoors until it passes. Nothing to panic over, at this time!

The severe thunderstorm warning continues until 5:15PM.

Main threats 70MPH Winds, and quarter size hail. Winds will continue to pickup as these storms make their way to the NE at 35MPH.

Be advised, Highway 74 is currently closed between East Fox Drive and East Southgate Road as an earlier accident is being cleared. We will advise when the road is back open.
