Visitors create a ripple effect across our local economy - from hotels and restaurants to retail, attractions, events, and beyond.

Last week, representatives from the Enid Chamber, Enid Regional Development Alliance, Visit Enid, and Downtown Enid & Main Street Enid continued a conversation that began at our August Member Advantage Power Hour, exploring how we can better capitalize on major events, attract visitors year-round, address barriers to event success, and create a quality “Enid experience” that keeps people coming back.

We appreciate the collaboration and shared commitment to making Enid a top-tier destination for visitors and a stronger community for all of us.

We are wishing our member and community partner, Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center, two big congratulations for being recognized at the recent Red Carpet Country Annual Conference & Awards for Best Social Media and Outstanding Attraction.

Preserving and sharing our history is an important part of Enid’s quality of life - and helps ensure the stories that shaped our community continue to be experienced by residents and visitors for generations to come. What a fitting recognition as we prepare for a week celebrating Enid’s history and heritage!

This morning, we were honored to join Alan Clepp of My Country 103.1 KOFM Oklahoma's Country to reflect on September 11, 2001 and share our own memories of a day that forever changed our country. We also had the privilege of meeting Larry Kolbinskie, a City of Enid transit driver who was living in Queens, New York, on 9/11, and hearing his perspective.

Each of us carries a different memory of that day - and of the minutes, hours, days, months, and years that followed. We must never forget the lives lost, the sacrifices made, or how deeply 9/11 reshaped our nation, even here hundreds of miles away. But may we also remember 9/12: a day when neighbors helped neighbors, differences felt smaller, and communities stood together. May we choose to live with a little more of that spirit every day.

Planning is underway for the 2027 Vance Air Show, and we are thrilled to spend the day working alongside community partners and regional Chambers of Commerce to help make it an event to remember.

July 24, 2027 will be an incredible opportunity to welcome visitors to Northwest Oklahoma, celebrate the mission of Vance Air Force Base, and create memories with family and friends. We’re proud to be planning alongside Vance Air Force Base, City of Enid Oklahoma, Visit Enid, Chris Moler of STAAR Solutions, Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce, Blackwell Chamber of Commerce, and many others. Make sure you save the date now and plan to spend your day with us!

Deadline to register for the Cherokee Strip Celebration Parade is September 10th! The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 19th downtown Enid led by the Slash-O-Longhorns sponsored by Cowboy First Bank!

New this year~ prizes will be awarded to the top three entries overall. First place $500, Second place $300, Third place $200.

The Enid Chamber Ambassadors were pleased to officially welcome Cornerstone Caregiving - 1017 West Cherry - to the community with a ribbon cutting September 2nd. Cornerstone Caregiving offer serve in-home care services to Enid and the surrounding area providing personalized care plans tailored to to individual daily activities or various care needs.

The Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Communications & Member Experience Coordinator to help us connect, engage and tell the stories of Enid’s business community.

This new position will play an important role in Chamber communications, events and member engagement - from social media and newsletters to ribbon cuttings, Chamber programs and some of our community’s favorite annual events.

We’re looking for someone who is creative, organized, enjoys working with people and is excited about helping local businesses and our community thrive.
