England Police Department Responds to School Threat; Arrest Made Following Investigation

England, Arkansas — September 4, 2026 — The England Police Department responded Thursday, September 3, to England Elementary School following a medical emergency involving a 10-year-old female student.

While medical personnel were treating the student, England Police officers became aware of information indicating a potential threat to the school. Officers immediately initiated an investigation and responded to a residence in England associated with the reported threat.

As a result of the investigation, Nickie Rogers was taken into custody. Officers subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence, where they recovered suspected illegal drugs and a firearm.

Rogers is currently being held in the Lonoke County Detention Center. Charges include:

· One count of threatening to commit an act of mass violence on school property

· Possession of fi****ms by certain persons

· Endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree

· Possession of co***ne

· Possession of ma*****na

· Possession of drug paraphernalia

· Simultaneous possession of drugs and fi****ms

The England Police Department would like to commend the officers and emergency personnel who responded quickly and professionally to the situation. The department also appreciates the cooperation of school officials and the community as officers worked to address the potential threat and protect students and staff.

Chief Richard Harper stated, “The safety of our children, our schools, and our entire community is our highest priority. When information comes to our attention that could represent a threat to our students or the public, our officers will respond immediately and take every necessary step to protect our community. We are grateful for the quick actions of our officers and our emergency partners, and we encourage anyone with information about a potential threat to report it to law enforcement.”

The investigation remains ongoing. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Stephen Anthony Glover Jr. Sentenced to 36 Months in
Arkansas Department of Corrections

LONOKE COUNTY, Ark. (August 17, 2026) — Stephen Anthony Glover Jr. has been sentenced in Lonoke County Circuit Court to 36 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, followed by a 24-month Suspended Imposition of Sentence (SIS), in connection with a conviction for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The sentencing order was electronically filed on August 17, 2026, in Lonoke County Circuit Court case number 43CR-25-586.

Under the terms of the sentence, Glover will serve a three-year term in the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Upon release, he will be subject to a 24-month Suspended Imposition of Sentence, during which he must comply with all conditions imposed by the court.

Interim Police Chief Richard Harper said that the case demonstrates the continued commitment of the England Police Department to enforcing Arkansas drug laws and holding offenders accountable through the judicial process. In other news, funds from the sale of Glover’s truck, seized as a result of a previous drug case, significantly contributed to the city’s recent purchase of a police radio.

Public Safety Post

Please be careful if you use the crime radar app. This call they put on earlier was labeled as a homicide in the city and is just one of many misleading calls we have had in our city on this app. This was just a routine traffic stop with a Hyundai not a homicide.

As discussed during the dispatch call, dispatchers and officers discuss a call near East 4th Street and Southeast 3rd Street in England, Arkansas, noting a vehicle described as a Hyundai.
