Due to Veterans Day holiday which is observed on Friday, November 10th, there is no yard waste collection that day; there WILL BE a yard waste collection on Saturday, November 11th. Trash pickup is on regular schedule.

The Transfer Station is closed Friday, November 10th and reopens Saturday, November 11th at 8:00am.

The Town is currently working on its Crack Sealing program before Winter. The Contractor is Connecticut Sealcoating, which began work last week, and will continue until all streets are completed. Crack sealing is done to decrease further crack deterioration, protect the pavement structure from moisture damage, and ultimately extend the pavement life.

The Town Manager's Office publishes its schedule weekly to promote transparency and show the priorities of the office. It is subject to change and is updated throughout the week.

Monday, November 6th
Meeting with Library Director on Charter revision; various grievance hearings at Public Works complex; meeting with representatives of the A&P Store, meeting with Indoor Market organizers.

Tuesday, November 7th
Election Day! Polls are open 6am-8pm. Schools are closed.
Meeting with Jim Gage from the Northern CT Land Trust; Charter Revision meeting with Shiela Bailey; Community Garden recap/review of best practices in other communities; Meeting with Social Services Director Cindy Guerreri on Uniform Relocation Act policy draft.

Wednesday, November 8th
Weekly update meeting with Public Works Director Donald Nunes; weekly HR / Payroll staff meeting; Community Investment Fund conference call re: Impact Residential Development application; Leadership meeting to set 11/13 Council agenda (tentative).

Thursday, November 9th
Eversource quarterly check-in with Mackenzie Smilow; Community Investment Fund conference call re: Hazardville Institute re-application.

Friday, November 10th
Town Offices are Closed in Observance of Veterans Day.

Veterans Day Observance, 11am, Town Green. Indoor Craft & Vendor Market at the former Nathan Hale School, 10am-3pm, free and open to the public.

Indoor Craft & Vendor Market at the former Nathan Hale School, 10am-3pm, free and open to the public.

This week's picture celebrates the installation of 4 Little Libraries at the Central Library's Community Gardens, organized by the Enfield Garden Club. The Club had applied for the ARPA non-profit grant offered by the Town last year. They are filling the libraries with books to encourage the community to learn about the environment, gardening and sustainability. The Club also welcomes donations of garden/environmental themed books to share.

Tuesday, Oct. 31st
Economic Enfield Economic Development Director interviews; meeting with Chad Wink re: active military exemptions.

Wednesday, Nov. 1st
Weekly meeting with Public Works Director Donald Nunes; Public Employee Conference (Bielenda); Enfield Food Shelf, Inc. visit (intern); phone conference with All-American Assisted Living President Glenn Kaplan and EMS Chief Erin Riggott.

Thursday, Nov. 2nd
Snow Preparation Meeting; CIRMA meeting on Town insurance issue (cancelled); meeting with Attorney Cerrato re: Snow fines.

Friday, Nov. 3rd
Uniform Relocation Act policy meeting with Enfield Social Services; Economic Development Director interview; meeting with Four Seasons Landscaping on town bids.

Saturday, Nov. 4th & Sunday, Nov. 5th
Enfield Craft/Vendor Market opens at former Nathan Hale School, 5 Taylor Rd; 10am-3pm, free admission.

This week's photo was taken at the Rotary Garden at the Enfield Senior Center. Plans are underway to upgrade and renovate the 20 year old garden that was started by the Enfield CT Rotary Club. Pictured are Town Manager Ellen Zoppo-Sassu, Senior Center Supervisor Mary Keller, Julie Cotnoir, President of the Rotary Club, representatives from Allied, who may be able to deploy expertise and Allied clients to assist; and Kathleen Souvigney, executive director of the Enfield Food Shelf, Inc., which receives and distributes the garden's bountiful harvest to its clients. This program will also be eligible for senior volunteers looking to get hours for their Senior Volunteer Tax Credit. Special thanks to Pat Bleakney for the years of oversight provided!
