Today, members of the Campville Fire Department had the honor of remembering one of our own, John V. Scott.

It has been 10 years since John's passing, and today the Carmichael Road E-911 Radio Tower site was officially dedicated in his memory—a fitting tribute to a man whose dedication and vision continue to benefit our community.

Our members were privileged to stand alongside John's wife, Karen, and daughter, Denise, as heartfelt stories, fond memories, and even a few laughs were shared in celebration of John's life and legacy.

John was a tireless advocate for improving emergency radio communications throughout Tioga County. His commitment to public safety has left a lasting impact that continues to serve first responders and our residents every day.

We extend our sincere thank you to Tioga County Emergency Services for making this happen to honor John’s memory.

🔥 Junior Fire Camp Graduation 🔥

🔥 Junior Fire Camp Night 5 🔥

Tonight was the final night of Junior Fire Camp and students finished strong gaining more knowledge of the fire service.

🚒 Students got to operate Campville’s Ladder Truck and take a ride high in the sky with Owego Fire Department’s Ladder Truck.

🛟 Students were relocated temporarily for a slip and slide water rescue activity. They focused on throw bag tosses to a simulated victim in “swiftwater”. Students were exceptional with their tosses and weren’t shy to go again.

🔥 Junior Fire Camp Night 4🔥

Students were brought to Campville Station 3 tonight for Rescue Company night. They learned how valuable teamwork and communication is and how often it occurs on the fireground. Coming together as a team they:

🚒 Worked through the maze and successfully rescued patients while communicating with the Incident Commander.

🚒Successfully freed a trapped victim from underneath a heavy object utilizing cribbing and our Combination Tool.

These are some of the most time critical skills to learn in the fire service which the students completed in record time!

🔥Junior Fire Camp Night 3🔥

Night 3 of Junior Fire Camp was focused on essential life saving EMS skills. Students mastered all the scenarios we could throw at them which were:

🚑 Hands on CPR skills and how to operate an AED

🩸Stop the bleed training and how apply a tourniquet

🚁 For our highlight of the night, we had a surprise guest subtlety tell us they were close with a flyby and a quick stop across the street for a demonstration. Students had many great questions for our friends in the sky. Thank you to Guthrie Air and Air Methods For stopping by and passing along your knowledge and experience to the next generation!

🔥Junior Fire Camp Night 2🔥

Starting night 2 off strong! Students got to take a firetruck ride to Campville Station 2 for tonight's activities. After riding in style through the district, students got right into their skills for the night.

🪢 Students built a 3:1 rope rescue mechanical advantage and also learned how lift and package a patient in the stokes basket.

💦With the high temperatures today, a game of waterball to cool everyone down was on! A great opportunity for the students to learn how to connect firehose, advance attack lines, and stay cool while doing it.

🔥Junior Fire Camp Night 1🔥

Students were welcomed to Campville Station 1 tonight for the introduction of Junior Fire Camp. After learning about their classmates and Instructors, we jumped right in to our activities:

🪣 Bucket brigade relay races with some additional twists

🚒Command and Control obstacle course putting everyone's communication skills to the test
