The Emporia Police Department is saddened about the passing of retired Captain John Eric Romano.

Captain Romano faithfully served the citizens of Emporia and the Emporia Police Department throughout his distinguished law enforcement career before retiring in 2018. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to public service left a lasting impact on our department and community.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Romano family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you for your service, Captain Romano. Your contributions to this department and community will not be forgotten.
