It’s almost lawnmower season. Because we haven’t had any real snow storms to speak of , I am caught up and now accepting lawnmowers for repairs and service.

Cleanup time

Memorial Day weekend I had planned to do a major cleanup in my shop . Thanks to the help on Tony and Andrew Lindstrom we cleaned and organized my shop . It looks great and I get compliments from customers that tell me this is the cleanest shop they seen . It was a really long winter with no break in between winter and spring . I had to stop taking in snowblowers and jump right into mowers. But finally I’m all caught up . Most shops are 3-4 weeks or even longer behind .

In continuing my Uh-oh moments this is a picture of rusty gas. This gas was left in a pressure washer ( not sure how long) but due to the ethanol in the today’s fuel that absorbs moisture and also manufacturers using metal fuel tanks, this is the end result. Please make sure you use fresh fuel and at the end of the season run it out or empty it from the tank and carburetor.

Uh-Oh Moment #1

The next few posts I will be making are what I call Uh-oh moments!! The lawnmower shown was ran without enough oil which cause the piston to snap off. This customer is actually very lucky because I’ve seen where the piston shoots out the side of the engine. It is essential to keep fresh clean oil at the recommended level at all times.
