Seasoning a new crucible 🔥

Before I can melt silver, a new crucible needs to be prepped. I slowly heat it, add borax, and work the molten borax around the inside until it creates a smooth, glassy coating.

Simple enough.

Except halfway through… I ran out of acetylene. 😂

So: stop everything, swap the tank, relight the torch, and carry on.

Just another glamorous day of making jewelry from raw materials.

Hello, September. 💙✨

Sapphire season has officially arrived.

September always feels like that little shift between seasons — cooler mornings, changing light, and apparently an excellent excuse to cover the jewelry bench in blue. 💙

This month I’ll be featuring sapphire-blue crystals across some of my favorite handmade pieces, from tiny solitaires and stacking rings to earrings and necklaces — plus September’s birth flower, the morning glory.

Everything is made by hand, one piece at a time, here in my JuxtaHub studio located in Emmaus, Pennsylvania.

Just a couple of chickens kissing at the jewelry bench. 🐔💋🐔

Today’s custom project started with two tiny chicken stamps and a piece of sterling silver.

Stamp. Saw. Solder. Shape. Polish.

And somewhere along the way, two little chickens became a very tiny love story. 🤍

This is one of my favorite things about making jewelry by hand — sometimes a customer’s idea comes across my bench and I get to figure out how to turn it into something that didn’t exist before.

A little sneak peek at where my brain is at right now…

I’m starting to figure out what I’ll be bringing to Cocktails & Collecting at the Allentown Art Museum, and the Echo Pendant is the first piece I’ve decided on.

Now I’m messing around with how I want to display it.

This is a deconstructed shadow box. I made the little arc and glued it directly to the glass so the pendant can hang out in space and you can see both sides—the embossed Current pattern on one side and the floral motif on the other.

Still playing. Still figuring things out. But I think I might be onto something. 👀

Some projects are about jewelry. Others are about preserving a memory. 🤍

This pendant began with sterling silver scrap, melted into an ingot, rolled into sheet, and embossed with a floral texture. After forming the cap and carefully fitting it to Willy’s tusk, every piece was soldered, refined, and polished by hand.

What started as raw silver and a treasured keepsake became something that can be carried every day.

It never gets old watching metal transform—and knowing that, in the end, it will hold a story that’s completely unique to one family.

That little crunchy, clicky, rolling sound? So satisfying.

My Rolling Ring is made with individually formed bands that are permanently linked together, letting them tumble and roll over one another as you move them up and down your finger. A little jewelry, a little fidget, and a whole lot of just one more roll. 😌

Choose 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 interlocking bands in sterling silver, gold filled, rose gold filled—or mix your metals and make your own combination.

This is why I love stacking rings. ✨

One tiny hand-forged band can be worn all by itself… or it can become the beginning of a stack that grows with you.

Mix your metals. Add different textures. Pair them with rings you already own. Wear three today and seven tomorrow. There really is no wrong way to build a stack.

And seeing how you wear the rings I make at my bench? That might be my favorite part. 🤍

How do you raise hell?

Around here, it starts with a strip of copper and a steel stamp. Every letter is struck by hand before the plaque is cut, soldered onto the band, oxidized, sanded, and polished into a finished ring.

No engraving machines. No shortcuts. Just metal, fire, and a hammer.

🔥 Made by hand in my Pennsylvania studio.
