Over the past few weeks, members from Station 28 have been sharpening their rescue skills through hands-on training and scenario-based evolutions. Tonight wrapped up the final night of training with a challenging mock incident involving a car vs. tractor trailer accident.

Members were tasked with managing a four-patient scenario, focusing on scene size-up, stabilization, patient removal, teamwork, and communication.

If this looks interesting and you would like to stop by one night to see more we have training every Tuesday night at 7pm.

Today, members from the Vera cruz Fire Department had the opportunity to participate in a live burn training alongside the Lower Macungie Township Fire Department. Crews worked on VES (Vent, Enter, Search), can searches, and fire attack operations, sharpening the skills that are critical on the fireground.

We would like to thank the Lower Macungie Township Fire Department for the invitation and hospitality during today’s training. Great teamwork, communication and hard work between both departments.

Over the past month, members of Station 28 have been refreshing on their skills at the Emmaus training grounds. Crews focused on hose advancement, ladder operations, search and rescue techniques, and VES (Vent, Enter, Search).

Training like this ensures we continue to provide the highest level of service and protection to our community.

Last night, members had the opportunity to train on our new UTV 28, getting hands-on experience with the unit and its capabilities. Crews spent time familiarizing themselves with the equipment and ensuring everyone is ready to put it to work when it matters most.

We’re excited to begin utilizing UTV 28 throughout our first due district and alongside our mutual aid companies. This new addition will enhance our ability to serve the community and support our neighboring departments more efficiently.

Members spent time tonight working on forcible entry techniques as part of our weekly training. Crews focused on proper tool use, door control, and techniques used to quickly and efficiently gain access.

Members also practiced advancing hand lines, emphasizing coordination, communication, and efficiency while making entry and moving through a structure. Training like this ensures our firefighters stay prepared for the challenges we may face on the fireground.

Tuesday night for weekly training, all members including interior, drivers, and jr
firefighters conducted a review and hands-on training focused on firefighter down scenarios and CPR. These situations are high-risk, high-stress events where quick, coordinated action can mean the difference between life and death. Regularly training on firefighter down procedures and CPR is critical to maintaining readiness, reinforcing muscle memory, and ensuring every member can act confidently and effectively when seconds matter most. Continuous training like this helps keep our firefighters prepared to protect both the public and each other.
