Thank you to St. Petersburg, Parker, and Clintonville VFDs for your assistance with the incident on Interstate 80 yesterday evening assisting the state police. We could not have completed the tasks for this incident without the help of our mutual aid agencies. Due to there being multiple EMS calls at the same time, the area also was also relying on ambulances from Emlenton, Knox, and Clarion Hospital. Emlenton fire personnel were split between water rescue, drone operations, and traffic control duties. St. Petersburg personnel assisted with duties closing the interstate. Parker personnel staffed a back-up rescue boat and sent personnel to assist with traffic control. Clintonville personnel stood by in the area and covered two additonal calls for us and an additional call for Parker. Thanks to Clarion and Venango 911.

9:30 PM UPDATE: Highway is now open

Interstate 80 is closed at Exit 45 (Emlenton/St.Petersburg) westbound due to an incident on the Emlenton Bridge. Detoured traffic is using State Route 38/208 through Emlenton Borough. Please avoid these areas as traffic is very congested. Thank you.

Tonight 5 firefighters trained on using the Z-Rig rope haul system, low angle rope access with their integrated harnesses, and patient packaging in the stokes basket. Afterwards members practiced with water rescue rope bag throwing and repacking.
