What better way to end the Beef Breeds unit and a relaxing time after the big exam then to create beef breed cookies! Fundamental Animal Science has been working on understanding beef breed categories, origin years, colors, and horned vs. polled breeds that are common in South Dakota.

Below you can find the FFA Rabbit Show Order for Saturday (9/5). Please collect your FFA Shirt at the Livestock Office located in the Ag Adventure Center.

Final ID Numbers will be confirmed at the Rabbit Barn from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday (9/5).

Please note that the numbers below are all estimated and do not include scratches for the show.

Today was a lab day for Plant Science (Mr. Toupal does two classes in the same 4th hour with every other day rotating Horticulture and Plant Science having lecture to independent lab) where students got to run through the soil factors portion of land judging. They had slope stakes outside, topsoil samples, subsoil samples, and more! We are excited to attend our first schooling to get into a pit next week!

More “Mum-ing” around as we had a little time after lecture today for a work time! P.S. Macie is super excited her ribbon has finally arrived and could pose with a photo of her choices!

Our third lab has started where students are measuring the change in mass of chewing gum every two minutes for a total of 10 minutes. They are looking at weight change along with flavor and texture. This lab focused on two different data collection methods.
