Everyone here with the City of Emerson is very honored and privileged to have Mr. Terry Webb and his family as highly respected lifetime pillars of this community. Yesterday was a very special day and we were delighted to have the Webb family come as our guests of honor to officially break ground for Webb Park.

Mr. Webb's years of service on our city council reveals the heart of a true and dedicated public servant whose love for his hometown and whose family roots run deep. We are so thankful for him and for his family who shared his time, encouraged him and supported him as he served the City of Emerson so very well for all of those years.

We are very excited to announce that the Webb Park dedication and ground breaking ceremony will be held tomorrow!

We would love for you to join us to celebrate Mr. Terry Webb and to mark the start of the construction of our first city park!

The ceremony will be held at the park site on Wednesday, March 25th at 5:30, which is located at the corner of Seventh Street and School Street.

Mr. Terry Webb began his career as a City Council Member in 1983 and served continuously until his retirement at the end of 2015. As stated in Resolution 2025-003 naming the park in his honor -
"Mr. Webb served as an invaluable asset to the Council and the residents of the City of Emerson, bringing warmth, kindness and a smile that made everyone around him feel special." We hope this park brings a smile to his face and to the faces of everyone who spends time there soon.

Save The Date!

Our annual Keep Emerson Beautiful event has been moved up from Fall to Spring this year.

Our Public Works Department does an excellent job keeping our roadways and ditches clean but this annual event is a wonderful way to volunteer your time to help as well. There is something very special about coming together with neighbors and taking pride in keeping our city clean and welcoming.

We would like to thank Southern Girls Market for donating two very full, healthy and beautiful ferns to the City of Emerson today.

The addition really transformed the entry to our council chamber/court room.

The blue skies and sunshine today is fueling our excitement for the return of the City of Emerson Community Garden, very soon!

We will be hosting an informational meeting on March 19th at 6:00 pm and we would love for you to attend.

So, mark your calendars to come so that you can join the group planning discussion, ask questions, make suggestions and possibly volunteer your time and gardening talents to help make the garden a sweet success for Emerson.

We will be closed on Monday February the 16th for President's Day and citywide garbage collection will be handled on Tuesday February the 17th.

Bartow County Winter Storm Update
Earlier today, Bartow County officials and municipal personnel met for a Winter Weather Coordination Meeting to prepare for the approaching storm.

❄️ Here’s what you need to know:

🚘 Stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. This is the most important thing you can do to keep yourself and others safe.

🚑 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will use tire chains when ice is present. These chains limit speed, so expect slower response times than usual.

💚ECO will remain fully operational throughout the storm.

🔥 Fire stations are staffed and ready to respond.

🔌 Georgia Power crews are prepared for storm damage. However, if winds are too strong, repairs may be delayed for safety reasons (bucket trucks cannot operate in high winds).

💙Departments that require power for essential operations are equipped with generators and do not anticipate any issues.

👉 Weather conditions are changing rapidly. We cannot predict exactly when or how severe the impact will be. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Our 5th Annual City of Emerson Christmas Festival last week was absolutely wonderful!

We would like to thank everyone for supporting the event and making it possible! You all helped us make it a such a delightful evening wrapped in small town tradition and charm.
