Youth Community Garden

The Emerson Public Library has had a community vegetable garden located in front of the library, for the past several years, and is looking to getting the children of Emerson and Hubbard area involved in planting and maintaining the garden, along with gardening tips, etc. There will be no cost for the children to participate in the program.

The club will meet weekly, every Wednesday from 4-5:00 p.m. at the Emerson Public Library. The first meeting will be Wednesday, May 13 and this class will teach the children how to plant and water the vegetables. There will be 2-3 adults present at every class to assist.

If you think this is something your child would enjoy learning, please call the library to get them signed up. We are asking them to sign up in order to have sufficient materials available for every class. Please contact the library before April 29 at 7:00 p.m.

EPL hours of operation are: M/F 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Wednesday 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 9-11:00 a.m. 402-695-2449

You're never to young to start playing in the dirt, so all ages are welcome!! If you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call!

Emerson Public Library board meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. This meeting will be at the library, at 205 West Third St. This is an open meeting, and we welcome anyone to attend. An agenda can be picked up at the front desk of the library prior to the meeting!
