A blast from the past! Director Scholl located some old VHS tapes (remember those?) with some pretty interesting 911 history on them. The first tape converted features 3 local news agencies reporting on 911 going digital in 1997. Take a look, and see how far we have come!

This week, Supervisors Larisch, Bursley, and McCoy partnered with Amherst Police Dispatcher Jordan and Sheffield Village Police Dispatcher Radawiec to instruct a newly adopted, dispatch-specific training course incorporated into the Active Attack Integrated Response Training (AAIR) presented by the Lorain County ASHER program.

This performance-level course is designed to strengthen coordination and integration between law enforcement, fire services, telecommunicators, and emergency medical services during active attack or active shooter incidents.

Interoperability among agencies is critical to a successful response during high-stress and rapidly evolving situations. This new course ensures telecommunicators are fully integrated into emergency response operations during mass shooting incidents, reinforcing their vital role in coordinated public safety response efforts.
