🩸 National Blood Collectors Week Spotlight: Meet Stacey 🩸
For 42 years, Stacey has dedicated her career to helping save lives through blood donation, and her passion for the mission comes from a deeply personal place.
When Stacey's younger sister was just a year old, she was diagnosed with leukemia and required chemotherapy and multiple blood transfusions. Witnessing the lifesaving impact of blood donors on her own family inspired Stacey to pursue a career dedicated to helping others.
Over the years, she's comforted countless donors, especially those who are nervous about giving blood for the first time. One of the things she enjoys most is helping people understand how one donation can help multiple patients and why every donor matters.
"I've had the opportunity to work with some of the most dedicated people I know and have made lifelong friendships along the way," Stacey shares. "Working at Vitalant is so rewarding because you know your job has a purpose. You're helping people every day."
As she nears retirement, Stacey says she can't imagine having chosen any other career.
Outside of work, Stacey enjoys cooking, gardening, spending time with her husband Willie, their children, and their grandchildren, Andie, Jack, and baby Roman. She has also dedicated years of service to her community, including 12 years on her local school board, six of them as president. Today, she remains active in her church as a Eucharistic minister and lector.
Thank you, Stacey, for more than four decades of compassion, dedication, and commitment to helping patients in need. ❤️
