05-21-2026 Another restoration project completed for a Fire Department in Texas. These lights are for there 1949 Mack Open Cab Fire Truck. Some custom work here for them to mount the Federal Model 174 Super Beacon Ray at top center of the windshield. Custom bracket anchors on the dashboard and a pipe to extend it above the windshield with a bracket to secure it to the windshield frame. They used a standard Model 17 light with a skirt mounted to a 12” diameter steel plate secured on the top for the Beacon Ray. In addition a Dietz 9-51 flashing Red light mounted to the chrome skirt. This light has had the common mounting stud removed and a filler made from a S*M light mounted in the bottom to close up the large hole.
In addition we have a pair of Dietz 9-51 lights with brackets that are mounted on each side of the windshield frame.

05-14-2026 And another odd light completed today it’s a TAE (Tool Automation Enterprises) “TAE RAY” light. This light looks to be a Hybrid of other lights I’m familiar with. Looks like the motor is the same as a Federal Beacon Ray. Lamp holder somewhat resembles a Unity RV46 light. And the dome is definitely a Unity 1282 dome. But the overall design is not the same as any of these lights. Saving old Lights and Sirens one at a time.

05-12-2026 Just finished up the restoration on another Mars FL8 light. This is a 12 Volt example of these great old lights. All chrome freshly re-chromed, aluminum base polished, looks and works great. It can to me with the wood display base but it definitely looked old so I sanded it reapplied a stain and a couple coats of polyurethane clear to it. Saving old Lights and Sirens one at a time.

05-06-2026 Picked up a very nice pair of original Trio Sales Model T-2 lights from a collector along with some other great items. We all know how difficult it is to find these in very good original condition. Of course you can see their mounted on a nice Oak display board and wired for a 12 Volt power source to operate. Only thing that would maybe make them better is if they were painted Black and the LAPD Division numbers were on them. Saving old Lights and Sirens one at a time.

04-28-2026 And today we have a very nice freshly restored Sterling Model 30 Free Rolling Siren. This is for a customer for a 1937 Peter Pirsch Tiller Fire Truck, originally serving Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and then Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania they’re restoring. If you’ll notice I painted the openings in the rotor housing a Dark Burgandy color to go with the color of there truck. Saving old Lights and Sirens one at a time.

04-21-2026 just finished putting together this pair of Unity S3 lights. These are not the most common Unity made and I’ve seen them on many Mack Fire Trucks mounted on the front sides. There specifically made to be mounted on the side with the top crown facing up. The mounting bolt is 90 degrees from the top crown and if you visualize it theirs two mirror different lights here a Left and a Right so the can both have the Crown on the top when mounted.
