Elyria to re-open shuttered Fire Station. Studies have shown that Elyria needs a minimum of 4 Fire stations, and adding additional Stations as the City continues to expand to meet national response time standards.

The Elyria Fire Department is planning to run a fire crew out of its Broad Street fire station to better serve southeast Elyria, and as a possible alternative to building a brand new station.

Elyria Firefighters, B-shift, remain busy with an apartment kitchen fire on Parkmeadow Drive. Fire was extinguished quickly and contained to the kitchen. American Red Cross is assisting the occupants.
