September is National Recovery Month! Each week, we will be sharing helpful information and resources from our friends SAMHSA. Research shows meaningful human connection supports resilience, hope, and long-term recovery. Every connection can make a difference.

Connections come from different places: Families. Communities. Workplaces. Schools. Local organizations. Peer support. When these pieces work together as one coordinated network, communities create the conditions where lasting recovery becomes possible for more people.

It’s our final Foster Care Friday of May, and as we close out National Foster Care Month, we are honored to spotlight Iris and Heriberto, who became licensed foster parents with Lorain County Children Services in 2024 because they wanted to share the incredible love they have within their family.
