Lorain County Sheriff Phil Stammitti, Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will and other law enforcement executives within Lorain County have committed significant amounts of resources for an aggressive response to the drug trafficking problem within Lorain County. y Drug Task Force. The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office - Drug Task Force (LCDTF) has embraced the task force concept in Lorain County for over 26 years and it has proven to be successful. The Lorain County Drug Task Force investigates and coordinates large scale investigations of mid to upper level traffickers and drug trafficking organizations. The LCDTF currently has representatives assigned to our Task Force from the FBI, DEA, Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Border Patrol. The LCDTF currently provides one Task Force Officer (TFO) to DEA Cleveland & two Task Force Officer's (TFO) to Cleveland ICE-Homeland Security Investigations. The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office- Drug Task Force has successfully investigated, prosecuted and convicted numerous large scale drug trafficking organizations over the years and have removed millions of dollars of illicit narcotics from our cities and towns. We have received funding through numerous Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services grants over the years and believe we have been good stewards of public money with never a finding for recover during any grant reviews. The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office- Drug Task Force is comprised of a Task Force Commander who also is the Chief Deputy for the Sheriff’s Office, and serves as commander of the county SWAT Team and has over 40 years of law enforcement experience. In addition, in 2012 was named the Greater Cleveland Memorial Society- Police Officer of the year. In addition the drug task force has 6 full-time detectives; including one of which assigned full-time as our Drug Diversion Investigator, The current vice-President of Ohio Chapter of NADDI and 2012 NADDI Investigator of the year. The personnel of the Lorain County Drug Task Force bring with them over 200 years of combined experience, two former Drug Task Force Commanders, one currently the Commander of the Ohio Northern Border Initiative Task Force and drug detection K-9 handler for the drug task force.
