‼️TRAINING OPPORTUNITY‼️

On April 10th the Elyria Township Fire Department will be hosting a “Through The Lock” class presented by Mad Props Fabrication LLC.

This class will teach soft entry skills to gain entry to structures while causing little to no damage. These are extremely valuable skills to know that will save yourself time and your residents money.

As the weather begins to warm up the Elyria Township Fire Department is taking full advantage to get outside and train. Today your firefighters worked on quickly connecting to hydrants, stretching attack lines and deploying ladders for rescue operations.

Elyria Township Firefighter’s responded to both a vehicle fire and a working structure fire in the township yesterday. It was a busy 24 hours for our members but they did a great job.

Thank you to our mutual aid from the City of Elyria Fire Dept and the Sheffield Township Fire Dept for your assistance on the structure fire.

Another record breaking year! ETFD finished the year with 924 calls. 2025 ended with the highest call volume in the departments history, breaking 2024’s record of 839.

Tonight four members of the Elyria Township Fire Department graduated from the paramedic program at LCCC. The paramedic program is a very long year with hundreds of in hospital and pre-hospital clinical hours and hundreds of hours worth of other requirements that must be met. We couldn’t be more proud of these four members.

This is a scam, Elyria Township will never call you to sell anything. If you recieve this call DO NOT purchase anything or give any personal information.

Lifecare dropped off a Toy collection box at our station. They are asking for new toy donations. The box will be at our station located at 41416 Griswold road, Elyria OH until December 18th anytime between 9 am and 4pm.

At 0825 this morning Elyria Township Fire responded onto Route 2 for a vehicle that had rolled from the Westbound Lanes and into the Eastbound Lanes. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

At 7:50 this morning Elyria Township Firefighters responded to the Ohio Turnpike for a tractor trailer rollover. No injuries were reported as a result of this accident.

ETFD was assisted on scene by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio Turnpike Safety Patrol and Interstate Towing.

A fantastic weekend of training for the members of the Elyria Township Fire Department. Thank you to the owner of the property for allowing us to train in this home before it was demolished. Aquired structure training is some of the best training firefighters can get. Our crews were able to train on search and rescue techniques, advancing hoselines and venting the roof of the building.
