The Lorain County Juvenile Court is proud to recognize James “Jimmy” Hase as he prepares for deployment with the United States Air Force. Our Court family is grateful for his service and sacrifice, and we wish him a safe and successful deployment. We look forward to welcoming Jimmy back to his role as Case Manager for the Crossroads Evening Reporting Program upon his return.

FOOD SERVICE FOR THE LORAIN COUNTY DETENTION HOME

Notice is hereby given that separate, sealed proposals will be received by the Lorain County Detention Home, 9967 S. Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035, Attention: Director of Residential Services, Matthew Koch, until 4:00 p.m. on Friday May 15, 2026, for:

PROVIDING COMPLETE FOOD SERVICE FOR THE LORAIN COUNTY DETENTION HOME AND FACILITIES INCLUDING COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE STANDARDS AS SPECIFIED IN THE INVITATION TO BID DOCUMENT.

Interested parties will be required to attend a mandatory onsite walk-through on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at 9967 S. Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035.

The complete official Invitation to bid documents and specifications may be obtained by contacting Jessica Burns, Fiscal Administrator, Lorain County Board of Commissioners, 226 Middle Avenue, 4th Floor, Elyria Ohio 44035; [email protected]; 440-329-5240. Between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:300 pm, Monday through Friday.

Only bids prepared on the official documents obtained through the Lorain County Board of Commissioners will be accepted. Bids must be accompanied by a bid guaranty and contract bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in bond form, shall be issued by the Surety Company or corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the bidder's name, address, and "Lorain County Detention Home Food Service Proposal." The County assumes no responsibility for proposals forwarded by mail. Late bids will not be accepted. The Lorain County Detention Home and facilities and the Board of County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all proposals, waive infor¬malities, and select the proposal deemed in the best interest of Lorain County.

Due to ongoing winter weather conditions, the Lorain County Domestic Relations & Juvenile Court will be closed on Monday, January 26th. Court hearings will be rescheduled.

Residential staff for the 24/7 facilities will be expected to report to work as scheduled.
