IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING NOVEMBER 3, 2026 GENERAL ELECTION

Our present township structure is one where the Town Clerk and Town Treasurer are elected positions and those elected to these positions must be residents of the township.

The Town Board voted to have a question on the upcoming November 3 general election ballot to allow the Township to move to Option B. Under Option B, the Clerk and Treasurer will be appointed by the Town Board and do not need to be residents of the township; and eliminates elections for Clerk and Treasurer.

All eligible voters from the Township will have the opportunity to vote on this question on the November 3 general election ballot.

The November 3 general election ballot language is “Shall option B, providing for the appointment of the clerk and treasurer by the town board, be adopted for the government of the town".

If a majority of the votes cast on this question is in the affirmative, the option shall be adopted in the town.

Also on the November 3 general election ballot will be the Town Treasurer position (currently an elected position).

All eligible voters from the Township will have the opportunity to vote for a Town Treasurer on the November 3 general election ballot.

If the question (explained above) to allow the Township to move to Option B is adopted in the town, then the election of the Treasurer on this ballot shall be nullified.

This Saturday! Please join the Eagles Nest Fire/EMS Auxiliary for a family fun fundraiser for the Eagles Nest Fire Dept. Lots of fun activities for kids and yummy treats at the bake sale. All profits go to support the fire department.
