Home can be a location, culture, community, family, or a deep feeling of connection.

Native American families navigate a continuous cycle of moving to cities for jobs and education and coming back to tribal lands to reconnect with their roots, culture, and relatives. This circular migration highlights deep ties to home despite historical displacement and ongoing economic hurdles. We know that a return home completes the family. We celebrate and rejoice in the return home and in the future hopes and dreams the return can bring. We express gratitude and happiness that what was gone has returned.

Two photos are of Victor Johnny in front of their family home. One of the past, the other of today. Also pictured are the members of the Johnny family who, at one time or another, lived at the Pine Street Indian Camp - Myrtle, Laverne, and Ivan Johnny. Some family members stayed for a time. Others moved on. Now, no one related to the Johnny family remains.

The kids at the Education Center grew some vegetables in the hoop house and put in the White Pine County Fair. Congratulations to Elijah Valdez, Eleanor Jackson, Emerie Trujillo who won awards.

The Ely Shoshone Tribe Education Center has had a lot of upgrades done to it. The upgrade to their facilities is to provide our preschool and after school kids with better space - one that supports childhood development and safer learning environment.
