❤️ **A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Firefighters, Search & Rescue, and Emergency Responders** ❤️

To the Firefighters who came from near and far, the dedicated Search and Rescue personnel, our local Fire Departments, Emergency Managers, and every agency and individual who has worked tirelessly to help control the Ward Fire, please know that our community is incredibly grateful.

While many of us have been able to watch from a distance, you have been on the front lines, working long hours in difficult and dangerous conditions to protect our homes, our families, our communities, and our beautiful Nevada landscape.

We know that fighting a wildfire is not simply a job. It means leaving your own families behind, working through exhausting conditions, facing unpredictable terrain and weather, and putting yourself in harm's way to protect people you may have never even met.

To the crews who traveled here from other communities and counties, thank you for coming when you were needed. To our local Firefighters and Emergency personnel, thank you for standing ready to protect your neighbors. To the Search and Rescue teams, Emergency Managers, Sheriff's Department, dispatchers, support personnel, and every agency working behind the scenes, thank you for the countless hours and the coordination that often goes unseen.

Wildfire response takes an army of people working together, and White Pine County has been fortunate to have an incredible one.

Please know that your courage, sacrifice, professionalism, and dedication have not gone unnoticed. Our community sees you. We appreciate you. And we are deeply grateful for every mile traveled, every hour worked, and every difficult decision made to help bring the Ward Fire under control.

**From all of us at the White Pine County Clerk's Office: THANK YOU.** 🇺🇸❤️

Stay safe, and know that you have the gratitude and support of the communities you are working so hard to protect.

ATTENTION WHITE PINE COUNTY VOTERS!!!

Our secure ballot box has moved with us to the Historic Courthouse at 801 Clark Street in Ely. The ballot box is conveniently located at the rear west side of the Historic Courthouse on Campton Street, to the right of the handicapped parking sign nearest to the building. This makes it extremely convenient to drive up to it and drop your ballot off without having to go more than a few feet from your automobile.

The ballot box is also under video surveillance and will be available 24/7 for your ballot casting needs. With the mail taking 2 weeks to reach its destination, we highly recommend that you hand-deliver your ballot to the Clerk's Office or drop it off at this ballot dropbox location to ensure your vote reaches our office within the timeframes specified in the NRS for counting.

Don't forget that the Clerk's Office has separated from the 7th Judicial District Court and moved from the Justice Center back to our old office downtown as of July 1st.

Early Voting will take place at the Historic Courthouse in October, as well. This information will be published in your sample ballots, and I will publish something in the newspaper. As always, we welcome all of your questions.

Please contact us at our physical location at 801 Clark Street, Suite 4 in Ely; via email at [email protected] or at [email protected]; or via telephone at 775-293-6509.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we look forward to seeing you all again during the General Election!

Thank you,

Nichole Stephey
County Clerk and Registrar of Voters
