🚨 Weather Alert – Madison County 🚨

A Tornado Watch has been issued for Madison County until 9:00 PM tonight (12/28/25). Conditions are favorable for severe storms, including the possibility of tornadoes. Please stay weather-aware this evening.

🌪️ Safety Tips for Our Rural Community
• Have multiple ways to receive alerts (weather radio, phone alerts, local updates).
• Identify your safe place now: basement or an interior room on the lowest floor, away from windows.
• If you live in a mobile home, plan a safer shelter location ahead of time.
• Secure loose outdoor items and farm equipment if it’s safe to do so.
• Avoid traveling during severe storms—rural roads may become hazardous quickly.
• If a warning is issued, take shelter immediately.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Check on neighbors who may need assistance, especially the elderly or those in mobile homes.

Be weather aware this evening.

Be weather aware this evening.

A fast moving line of strong to severe storms will move into central Indiana soon, with approximate arrival times marked with yellow lines in the image. Damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are the primary threats. Be prepared to take cover if storms threaten.

Merry Christmas! If Santa made it down the chimney safely, let’s keep the rest of the day incident-free too 😉

🔥 Christmas lights are for decorating trees, not outlets — if it’s getting warm, unplug it.
🕯️ Candles are festive, but please keep them far away from wrapping paper, pets, and that one relative who talks with their hands.
🍗 Cooking Christmas dinner? Keep an eye on the stove — dinner should be served, not smoked.
🚗 Heading out to see family? Take it slow — reindeer aren’t the only ones sliding around today.

We’ll be on duty all Christmas Day, running on caffeine, leftovers, and holiday cheer. Stay safe, enjoy the laughs, and keep the Christmas magic where it belongs.

🎅🚒 Merry Christmas from Duck Creek Fire!

🚨🌬️ Wind Advisory: Duck Creek Edition 🌬️🚨
Until 8:00 PM tonight

It’s WINDY. Like… hold-onto-your-pants windy.

💨 What’s going on:
South winds 20–30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
Strong enough to:
• Knock over trash cans
• Reorganize your patio furniture
• Turn Christmas decorations into low-budget drones
• Slam doors dramatically like they’re in a soap opera

🔥 From Duck Creek Fire:
• Secure anything not bolted down
• No burning — this wind will spread fire faster than gossip
• If you see your neighbor’s decorations in your yard… just wave, it’s normal today

If you go outside and immediately regret it — that’s the wind.
Stay safe, Duck Creek, and keep both feet on the ground!

🔥 Space Heater Safety | Duck Creek Fire Department 🔥

As temperatures drop, we know many residents turn to space heaters for extra warmth. While they can help take the chill off, space heaters are also a leading cause of winter home fires when not used properly. Duck Creek Fire Department wants to remind everyone to use them safely.

Please remember these important safety tips:

• Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn, including furniture, curtains, bedding, and clothing.
• Never plug space heaters into extension cords or power strips. Plug them directly into a wall outlet.
• Place heaters on a flat, stable surface and never on furniture.
• Turn heaters off and unplug them when leaving the room or going to sleep.
• Do not use space heaters to dry clothes, shoes, or blankets.
• Keep children and pets well away from heaters at all times.
• Use heaters with automatic shut-off and tip-over protection whenever possible.
• Make sure your smoke alarms are working on every level of your home.

🚒 A warm home should never come at the cost of safety. Taking a few extra precautions can prevent fires, injuries, and tragedies.

If you have questions about fire safety or home heating, Duck Creek Fire Department is always here to help. Stay warm, stay safe, and look out for one another this winter.

🚨 ROAD CONDITION UPDATE 🚨
As explained very wisely by the tiny green driving instructor above…

Dear Duck Creek friends, neighbors, and anyone who thought, “It’ll be fine, I’ll just run out real quick.”

The roads have officially entered the slicky-slick phase. Tires are attempting to stop. Physics is saying “nah.”

Our crews and highway partners are out working hard, but today is not the day for zoomy-zoom. Because if you do… you may end up boomy-boom in the ditchy-ditch, waiting for a towy-tow in the cold snowy-snow—and nobody wants that.

Let’s all agree to make good life choices today:

🏠 Stay home
🛌 Stay cozy
☕ Grab a warm drink ( non alcoholic of course)
👀 Watch the white stuff fall from inside your house, where it’s safe and warm. Don’t forget your space heater safety.

Please stay off the roads if you can. No errand, snack run, or “I’ll be careful” is worth a surprise meeting with our crews.

Your couch approves.
Your car approves.
And honestly… so do we. 🚒❄️

❄️🚒 DUCK CREEK FIRE WINTER WEATHER PSA 🚒❄️

Alright folks, Duck Creek Fire here to slide into your timeline with an important announcement 👀

🚨 WINTER STORM WARNING 🚨
🕚 11 AM today through MIDNIGHT tonight

💥 What’s happening?
Mother Nature is throwing snow like she’s mad at Indiana. We’re expecting 4–6 inches of the fluffy stuff, with a few spots getting extra for no good reason.

📍 Where?
Central, east central, and west central Indiana — yes, probably you.

🛑 Impacts?
Roads will be slicker than a firehouse kitchen floor after chili night. 🚗💨
Plan extra time, slow it down, and remember: four-wheel drive does NOT mean four-wheel stop.

🔥 Duck Creek Fire’s pro tip:
If you don’t have to go out… don’t. If you do go out… go slow, buckle up, and let us enjoy a quiet shift.

Stay warm, stay safe, and keep the snowball fights off the roadways ❄️😉

🚨❄️ SLICK ROAD ALERT FROM DUCK CREEK FIRE ❄️🚨

Friends, neighbors, and those who still hit the brakes like they’re trying to win a prize… the roads this morning are smoother than a buttered bowling lane. If you so much as think about turning too fast, your vehicle might decide to do its own interpretive dance routine. 💃🚗

Our firefighters have already declared today “No Unplanned Ice Skating Day,” so please:
• Drive slow enough that even the ducks would approve.
• Leave extra space—your car isn’t sponsored by a curling team.
• And for the love of warm socks, don’t test the laws of physics on those back roads.

We’ll be out and about keeping everyone safe, but you can help by keeping your wheels calm, your speed gentle, and your coffee firmly in its cup. ☕❄️

Stay safe, stay upright, and may your morning commute be free of accidental pirouettes. 🦆✨
