Doris here: progress is slow on recovering from the decompressing of 3 vert. Not really pain there but other issues have made it uncomfortable. SO PLEASE SHARE THE DATES AND TIMES FOR PANTRIES FOR NOV AND DEC AND HELP EVERYONE REMEMBER.

"Food pantry days will be changed for November and December!

Looking ahead to the next few months, we will be scheduling the give away days for the 1st and 3rd Friday's in November and December. This is to provide food before the holidays and not the weekend of the holidays.

I realize October 22, 23, and November 5 are fairly close together, so we are providing special and different boxes on the 22nd. The regular milk, bread, dry goods and produce will be provided through the mobile on the 23rd. We will be back to normal boxes for the 1st of November.

Please mark your calendars! I have been slow in getting out notices! The weeks are flying by and the pantry Fridays sneak up on me!

It was great to have such a wonderful turnout of volunteers at the last pantry. Thank you all for the commitment you have made to the pantry days. Your service is appreciated!

Trees are changing color, pumpkins are on the steps ready for Halloween, Celebrate October with Pumpkins, November with turkeys and Christmas with family.
OCTOBER 8th, Friday is pantry, Methodist Church drive by in alley at 11:00 AM. Enjoy the season!

Same time . - 11:00 AM. committee will be there prior to set up.

WELL fall is here! Football, Volleyball, school, harvest time: all the good things here in rural Nebraska. Friday the 10th of September is pantry 11:00 AM. Enjoy your visit and watch out for those blind corners.

Best Choice bar codes are still being collected by the Gosper County Food Pantry. For every 1000 codes the pantry will received $30.00 when they are sent into the Best Choice. They can only be submitted once a year and takes about 30 days to get the refund that can be used as the pantry desires. Keep your bar codes and remind friends, they can be left at Elwood grocery store in the bucket that is there. Also a bucket for socks and gloves to be donated to school and other needed organizations. Amazing what this little donation can do to help. THANK YOU!

Friday August 27th is the fourth Friday of this month so time for food pickup. Usual time at 11:00 AM and at the Elwood Methodist Church, alley pickup. Starting to see a few locations that are asking people to wear masks if they had not had the COVID shots so we need to be prepared to continue the alley pickup. Kids are back in school, leaves seem to be ready to fall of the trees so guess that fall is arriving. Be careful out there driving, watch for cars with kids, buses from schools and farmers working in field and hauling grain/hay.

29-30 July, Gosper County Fair...pantry is collecting socks. gloves, mittens for those in need.

Our Story

The Food Pantry will serve Gosper County Residents. Gosper County residents in need of food will find the pantry at the Elwood Methodist Church - For more information about the schedule so you can call the Methodist Church or Doris at 308-325-2549. Three to four times a year a mobile food pantry is held where the food from comes from the Food Bank of the Heartland. Watch the face book page for dates or changes.
