Today, the Commack Fire Department and members of SCPD, including the 2nd Precinct, came together to remember and honor our fallen brother, Glen Ciano.
Seventeen years ago, Glen made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his community. We were honored to stand alongside his family, friends, and fellow first responders to reflect on his life, service, and legacy.
Thank you to everyone who attended and to Signarama for generously donating a new sign to replace the weathered one ..a lasting reminder that Glen will never be forgotten. 🕊️💙🚔🚒

We invite our community to join us as we honor the life and sacrifice of Officer Glen Ciano during a short memorial ceremony and sign replacement.

The replacement sign, generously donated to the 2nd Precinct by Signorama, will continue to stand as a reminder of Officer Ciano’s sacrifice and a powerful message that our decisions on the road matter.

This Valentine’s Day, we had the honor of creating and delivering handmade cards from Maplewood Intermediate School students to the residents of Carillon Nursing Home 💌💙
We hope these small gestures brought big smiles and a little extra joy to their day.
A huge thank you to every student who participated and took the time to write such thoughtful messages to our seniors ..your kindness truly makes a difference.

No scripts. No warnings. Just real-time decision-making.

During this training scenario, our Police Explorers were placed into a situation with no prior briefing just like real life. Each explorer reacted based on their own instincts and current knowledge, which varies by experience and exposure.

After the scenario, officers broke everything down:
✔️ what was done well
✔️ what could be improved
✔️ how different choices can change outcomes

This hands-on approach allows explorers to think on their feet, make quick decisions, and then learn in a safe, supportive environment designed to build confidence and skills.
