Happy ! 🌱🌎

This year, our program partnered with Social Services to hand out various garden starters to our Tribal elders.💚 We found good homes for our tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, green onion, spinach, and snap bean plants to grow in! 🌿 Thank you to everyone that was able to stop by!

🌧️Rain or shine! ☀️

Amazing job to everyone who came out today to help cleanup roadside litter! Even in wet conditions, we collectively cleaned up ~570 lbs of litter. Litter ranged from candy wrappers, cigarette butts, plastic/glass bottles, construction debris, and even old ice chest! And thank you to our Tribal PD for escorting our group along the road and keep us safe! 🚔

Thank you, everyone, for Keeping Coushatta Clean! 🫧🚮

It's ♻️

March 18th is the day that everyone around the world comes together to acknowledge the importance of recycling and the value in our efforts. The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana's Environmental Program can proudly say that since the start of our program in , we have successfully offset over 64,000 lbs of various recyclable materials from landfills. The efforts of many tribal members, Coushatta staff, and locals have actively contributed to the act of conservation of our planet & sustainability amongst ourselves - that's incredible! We want to remind everyone that "Recycling" is only 1 part of the pyramid! Reducing and Reusing waste is also critical to making massive leaps towards protecting our natural resources and land. 🌿

We hope to continue serving this area for many years to come and we are honored to work alongside our community in these goals!
