On 05/28/2026, M/Cpl. Giles of the Elsmere Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on a black Kia sedan for expired registration and unreasonable speed. During a probable cause search of the vehicle a concealed G***k 9mm handgun and ammunition were found inside the vehicle.

The driver 28-year-old Devon Broady of the 200 block of North Maryland Avenue in Wilmington was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Firearm), Expired Tags, and Driving at an Unreasonable or Imprudent Speed.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Sarah comes from another Delaware police department with three years of experience.
