The Cities of Elsa, Edcouch, and La Villa are working together to strengthen hurricane preparedness efforts across our communities. Public Works crews from all three cities have joined forces to clean curbs, remove debris, improve drainage flow, and reduce potential flooding risks ahead of hurricane season.

This collaborative effort highlights the commitment of our cities to regional cooperation, public safety, and proactive storm preparation. By sharing resources, equipment, and manpower, we are taking important steps to help protect our residents and infrastructure during severe weather events.

Together, we are building stronger, safer, and more resilient communities.

Today, the City of Elsa officially swore in Mayor Al Perez, who was re-elected to continue serving our community, along with newly elected Commissioner Jessica Rodriguez Garza and Commissioner Aaron Garza.

We congratulate each of them as they begin this new term of service and leadership for the citizens of Elsa. Public service requires dedication, integrity, and commitment, and we pray God grants them wisdom and guidance as they work together for the betterment of our city.

Some people manage paperwork.
Some people manage people.
And a rare few quietly hold an organization together when nobody else sees the weight they carry.

Congratulations to our HR Director, Edith Acua, on receiving the Lone or Almost Alone Ranger Award of Distinction from the Texas Municipal Human Resources Association.

Your dedication, professionalism, and leadership do not go unnoticed. Elsa is better because of the work you do every single day.

Well deserved. πŸ†

Today, I want to speak directly to the residents of Elsa.

Our city is financially strong, stable, and moving forward.

The official account balances released as of March 31, 2026, reflect responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, strong reserves, and continued investment in the future of our community.

Because of careful leadership and sound management, Elsa remains positioned to support essential services, improve infrastructure, invest in growth, and meet the needs of our residents.

While others may choose politics and misinformation, my administration will always choose facts, transparency, and results.

I remain committed to serving every family in Elsa with integrity, accountability, and a vision for an even stronger future.

Elsa stands strong β€” and our best days are still ahead.

β€” Mayor Al Perez
